A. Jakarta
B. Manila
C. Shangai
D. Karachi

Jakarta is the world’s fastest sinking city. Many coastal cities around the world are dealing with rising sea levels. Jakarta is in the worst stage of all. It is the biggest city in Indonesia but also has this unique problem. A greater number of residents have to pull out groundwater to stay alive. And it’s the cause of the city is sinking.

The trouble gets poorer each year but the basis of it precedes modern Indonesia by centuries. In about 1600, Dutch landed built current Jakarta and divided the city to isolate the residents. This isolation finally led to an imbalanced water piping structure which disqualified most original residents of Jakarta. This misbalancing forced them to find other ways to dig up water.
