The longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century occurred on 27th July 2018. The lunar eclipse was observed. It occurs when the moon is above the horizon during the hours when Earth casts its shadow on the moon. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) predicted this as the longest eclipse out of all eclipses has occurred over 580 years. It was last for over three hours.
A major part of the moon appeared in red color from earth. It was making it an impressive view and it was also showing a dramatic light. This lunar eclipse was visible in all regions where the moon was above the horizon during the eclipse. It was viewed with naked eyes where it was visible. A lunar eclipse is not harmful to naked eyes as it does not produce any light but reflects the light of the sun only.
