Yerevan, Armenia, will host the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity from 19 to 30 October 2026. The meeting will bring countries together to review progress on global biodiversity commitments and discuss further action to protect ecosystems and biological diversity.
COP17 is particularly important because it will include the first global review of collective progress toward implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The Yerevan meeting is therefore a significant international current affairs event for students preparing for competitive examinations.
