The  Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was founded on September 25, 1969. The OIC was founded as a result of large diplomatic efforts by Saudi Arabia and Morocco, and the first Islamic Summit convened in Rabat in September 1969, despite hesitation and resistance by some countries, representatives from twenty-four states responded positively and attended the summit.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, formerly the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1969, consisting of 57 member states. The 48th Summit of the OIC Foreign Ministers was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on 22 March 2022.
