A. Carbon dioxide
B. Oxygen
C. PFAS
D. Nitrogen
Scientists reported a new method in July 2026 for rapidly detecting PFAS chemicals using fluorescent nanosensors. PFAS stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a large group of synthetic chemicals that can persist in the environment.
The new nanosensor technology uses light to help identify PFAS in environmental samples. Faster detection can make it easier to monitor contaminated water and other environments.
