In August 2026, NASA released a new collection of Voyager 2 data from its historic flyby of Uranus. The data were collected by the spacecraft’s Planetary Radio Astronomy instrument between 1985 and 1988 and include measurements of radio emissions and plasma-related phenomena.
Voyager 2 remains the only spacecraft to have visited Uranus and Neptune. The newly archived observations give scientists another opportunity to study Uranus using data collected during the spacecraft’s historic encounter more than three decades ago.
