The 2025 Chemistry Nobel went to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson, and Omar M. Yaghi for their work on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).
MOFs are materials built with metal ions connected by organic linkers, forming porous “rooms” or cages in their structure. These pores allow gases and chemicals to move through, be stored, captured, or catalyzed.
