The Peshawar Radio Station was already existed at the time of creation of Pakistan. The Peshawar Radio Station was established in 1935. Mr. Abdul Qayyum Khan, the renowned political leader of North-West Frontier Province Pakistan (NWFP), when went to London during the Round Table Conference of 1930-1932, there he met Marconi (the inventor of Radio), and requested him to donate one for the NWFP.
After that Marconi gifted his device to NWFP. The Radio transmitter, that was personally engineered by Marconi, was installed in Peshawar and inaugurated by Sir Ralph Edwin Hotchkin Griffith, the Governor of NWFP in 1935.
